Flip Saunders - terrible playoff coach
Isaiah Thomas - the Knicks still suck
Phil Jackson - every team that won a ring could have done it if I was coaching

my two picks are Larry Brown and Phil Jackson

In Browns case, look at what happened to the 2004 Olympic team and last years Knicks, he only won the title with Detroit because the talent was there.

In Jackson's case he was the lucky coach who just happened to be there when great players like Jordan and Pippen were on the bulls. The Lakers? If you got Shaq and Kobe and a half decent supporting cast of course you'll win. the main problem I have with Jackson is that he lets his players (including his days with the Bulls) get away with too much crap both on and off the court

Truthfully I've always preferred coaches who will make a team better such as former NBA players like Avery Johnson or coaches who build a contender from scratch ( like Jerry Sloan and this years Jazz)

Phil Jackson. The only reason he's won 9 championships is because he was lucky to have at least 2 great players on his teams. First he had Jordan and Pippen, and then he had Shaq and Kobe.

Mike Dantoni is overrated because he has athletic players and he doesn't really run plays, they try to score as soon as they get they ball and his team doesn't play defense. His players do all the work. Pat Riley isn't overrated because he's the best at motivating his players. Isiah thomas is definitely overrated
