No one here bothered to think that it may be the mom who posted the question here??

Changing your name is legal ... unless it is for fraudulent purposes. And avoiding child support is about the most fraudulent thing I can think of.
So.. that would make the person in contempt of a court order, AND committing fraud on top of it.
If you are the dad here, you are in the wrong.

Well a couple things . . . if you are going to try and legally change your name and you use this as the reason, guess what, the judge isnt going to let you change your name. So unless you are planning on lying to the court, no luck there.

Even if you do change your name, you will be found. The state that issued the child support order has your social security number, etc. They can trace you in many ways.

You should want to support your children anyway. They are your kids!

Some day, you will get caught up with. You can change your name, however, your SS# will remain the same. You will eventually have your income taxes garinshed for the back support.

Why would you NOT want to pay child support.... a child is the responsability of BOTH parent's.. you apparently had the fun making the child.. now step up and do the right thing and pay your part!

It doesn't matter if you change your name or move to a different state. If you're ordered to pay child support you MUST pay child support no matter if you're living some where else or have a different name.

Don't you want your children to have a good life? Child support is for YOUR children not anyone else. If you fail to pay child support, you are HURTING your own kids.

Yes, if you are found. You will be summoned to a trial date, and charged with failure to comply with judges ruling of civil affairs. If you fail to appear in court you will have a warrant for your arrest. Screw the mother if she is a B!&$* but that kid is your blood and you just left him. your not worht anything if you can't fend for a helpless being
U R pathetic I am glad ur not my dad! You would probably rather stuff 20 down a stippers thong then feed your seed! Go ahead let the kid live in poverty he is probably better off than having you in his life LOSER! I hope he grows up and becomes a cop and is the one to catch you.

Yes it is illegal - but nevermind, they will find you anyway....... Unless you don't plan on working anymore....if that is the case, don't plan on going on welfare....guess you'll just have to steal from people who work for a living.

Which is what you are doing when you don't support your childred. Then it is WE the taxpayers who dole out welfare for the child....

That's why we label people like you "deadbeat dads"....and that's what you are.

If you are not interested in the well-being of your child, go to court and sign away your parental rights......bum.

I think yes you are suppose to notify child support bureau and let them know you are moving. You can change your name but they will find you through your SS #. I take it you do not care about your children? You need to think about how they will feel knowing that you ran away to avoid monetary help their lives. How sad for them Why is it so difficult for Dads to help their children. It makes me feel that men are cheap.
