Hello, my ID is Dell Tech, a trained computer specialist.

There is no SUCH thing as free best.

Yes, I agree many free stuffs are helpful, but not to the max... Now, as a computer specialist, there is no good Free Anti virus software protection on the Net... I can easily hack AVG without it detects my harmful attempt to ruin your computer. Not just me alone know how to hack Free AVG Anti virus protection, thousands of people do... To make this much clearer, I can fool all free Anti Virus protection, but I can't seem to break into the subscribed ones...

So, are you protected with the best free Anti virus protection? Answer is ( No.)
I highly recommend McAfee 2007 because Norton slows down your computer. And always remember that McAfee 2007 is todays leading computer defense.

Message from Dell Tech.

I used to get norton with my Netzero account for free. I ran it for quite some time with out many problems, then one day I had downloaded updates and it restarted my computer. That was the end of my computer. I don't know what it did but my comp never would boot back to windows. I ended up being lucky enough to have my own windows disk but I still lost all of my files and pictures. My sister-in-law had Mcafee on her computer and it didn't do a very good job of protecting her computer. Someone had been surfing porn sites and her comp was loaded with viruses. She ended up having me reinstall windows. She actually purchase some kind of windows utilities that was supposed to block everything and now she has viruses again. After the deal with norton I have been using Avast Home. It is free as long as you get the home version and not the professional. It is real quick to pick up viruses. If I download something that has viruses it usually lets me know before the download is even done. It is the same with web pages. It has notified me of viruses on web pages basically as soon as they get on my computer. I have used AVG free as well. It doesn't seem to do bad but it doesn't pick up the viruses the way avast does.

I had Norton Internet Security on my computer 6 months ago. I hated it, it never found any viruses/spyware and it was slow. I downloaded a free trial version of PC Cillin and I loved it. It found and got rid of a couple viruses and some spyware that Norton couldn't find.

Listen Norton, and McAfee, are system hogs they take up a lot of system resources, and are as slow as sweet heck, i couldnt do a system virus scan with McAfee inn under 50 minutes, very slow. I dont care what anybody says AVG anti-virus free is one of the best, ive never had any problams with it. Get it free at the link below. Good luck.

He must really be a Dell Tech... I've been seeing the same canned messages from him all over the answers board. Just like someone from Dell Technical support.

Oh, and by the way, it's funny that he's promoting mcafee so strongly. While I admit that mcafee is a good program, it's also the one that Dell packages most often with its computers. Sounds like a bit of shameless self-promotion to me.

I just never realized that used their outsourced staff to advertise their products as well. Thought they only used U.S. based college boys to do that.

Get a mac. You wont get viruses with a mac. Also that Dell guy does not know anything. If you look at his computer questions they are really stupid. Dell suck and they are not the best computer company. Apple stock is 4 times what Dell is. IF you are trained by Dell you waisted your time. Dell trains you at the level of a 4 year old.

Avast and AVG are both excellent at finding viruses and both are free. Norton is indeed rubbish, but so is McCafee. I use Avast and it finds things that Norton and McCafee don't even come CLOSE to finding.

sorry to burst the bubble here, but norton anti-virus, does not work. the best and most working anti-virus is AVG 7.5 or higher. I have this program and its the best ive ever used. it lets you update it and mostly it does it on it's own. You MUST get AVG if you are worried like this...Yes, go for AVG.

contact me and i can get you the full version....no cost....no tricks...
