My husband and I have recently moved and I'm staying with my in-laws until he's done with training for a new job. We've been here (me and my 11wk old) for about 2 weeks, and for the last 3days he's been unusually fussy. He's usually fine when he gets up in the morning then he has crying episodes for the rest of the day. Could it have something to do with him sensing my stress? or should I take him to the doctors? He has no other symptoms, no fever or change in pee or poop? I don't know what it is and its hard to watch him cry like that and not know what to do about it? Anyone have any advice. 1st baby!!!!

It's probably the stress. Even very young babies can sense stress in their caregivers and respond to it. Try to get a routine going so he can start to predict what will happen next. Routines are very calming for young children. If you can get outside for walks, that also seems to help (but make sure he's protected from the sun, even when it isn't warm). If your in-laws are home during the day, maybe you could ask them to watch your son for half an hour so you can get away from the crying. It tends to drive you crazier than it does anyone else! If he doesn't calm down in a few days, a trip to the doctor never hurts! Don't worry that the doctor or nurses will think you're being silly . . . they are used to nervous young parents and are happy to help. Good luck!
