If they marry outside their religion and their new spouse isn't willing to convert, they are pretty much kicked out of the church. No temple marriage for them!

I'll put it this way: let's say you and your partner are Mormon. Let's say you want to marry in a temple but his parents aren't Mormon. Guess who can't come to the wedding? That's right--his parents AND anyone else who isn't Mormon.

Everybody is allowed to do whatever they want. Most people that are Mormon though, WANT to get married in the temple. A lot of times the way they do it is they get married in a normal ceremony, and then after they are married for a year and proved themselves "temple worthy" ( they just have a bunch of requirements I don't know what they are.) they go to the temple and have their temple wedding. If they choose to marry someone outside their own religion though, they cannot have a temple wedding, and Mormons believe that in order to be with your loved ones for time and all eternity you have to be "sealed" in the temple, so by marrying someone outside their religion, according to their beliefs them and their S/O will be separated after death.

It is not expected. However with the teachings and following the couple should marry in the temple if they are worthy. That means, no smoking, drinking, gambling, pay your tithing, live a clean moral life. Both must have a temple recommend by the bishop to enter and partake of the blessings within the temple, and both MUST be Mormon..

They are allowed to marry anyone that they choose.

However, they believe that marriage can and should be not just for this life, but for all eternity. In order to marry someone for eternity, it needs to be in the temple. In order to get married in the temple you need to be baptized in the Mormon church and be worthy to enter the temple.

So if you want to get married and be with that person forever, it must be to a mormon in the temple. If that's not something you're intersted in, marry whoever, whereever you want.

If you a "good" mormon then yes. You stay in your religion and get married when you are young and raise other little mormons by the dozens in order to take over the earth and rule the three parts of heaven.

I wouldn't say it is "expected"...more a goal. For any worthy member, our main goal is (or should be) to be sealed for time and all eternity to our spouse and family in the temple. I would say that is the ultimate goal.
Yes, any member can marry another outside the mormon faith, but they will not be sealed in the temple. That is reserved for worthy members only..

You are allowed to marry whomever you wish. But you are not able to marry in the temple if the fiance is a nonMormon.

BUT....

I would suggest to ANYONE to marry within your own faith, beliefs or dogma. Marriage is hard enough without adding a moral system to the mix.

It is not expected, but it is HIGHLY encouraged for LDS to marry another LDS member. (preferably in the Temple)

But they can marry outside of their religion, and many have successful marriages. If you are a different religion you can NOT marry in their Temple, but you could marry in their meetinghouse.

yes they are allowed. my mom is mormon and my dad is not. mormons can marry whomever, but if a mormon marries a nom-mormon, you cannot get married in the temple.
