Well if you were to watch them in order from the books it's
1. Hannibal Rising
2. Red Dragon or Manhunter
3. Silence of the Lambs
4. Hannibal
Good horror movies to watch are:
1) The Descent.
2) The Shining
3) It
4) Audition
5) Ju-on not the Grudge

The Hannibal Lecter series should be watched in this order:
1. "Manhunter" (or the remake "Red Dragon". Manhunter is better)
2. Silence Of The Lambs
3. Hannibal (not a good movie)
Also try "The Ring" and "The Ring 2", "Audition" (Odishon), the original "Texas Chainsaw Massacre", "Psycho", and "A Nightmare On Elm Street".

Phantasm is a cult classic that is really a true horror movie. The original Hellraiser is pretty horrifying too. A real knuckle biter. The Exorcist seems to grab a lot of people. That ought to give you bad dreams for at least a couple of weeks.
