I'm getting married outdoors this summer. I'm letting my bridesmaid and maid of honor pick out their own dresses with some requirements. I'm questioning whether or not to have different lengths for the maid of honor (long) and bridesmaid (knee-length), or if they should be the same, or if it will matter.

Also, the moh prefers a floor length dress.

Thanks!

I let my bridesmaids all pick there dresses but it had to be the same color! and they all ended up picking mid calf length dresses. but its your wedding so its your decision! good luck email me if you have any questions

I think it would be fine if the maid of honor has a long dress and the rest a short dress to differentiate between the two. There doesn't have to be a difference but I think there should be after all the bridesmaid is like "your person" lol Her dress should be different more outstanding as should the best man. I would say go with them to pick dresses and then narrow it down. You don't want some out there dresses that your going to not want at your wedding lol like orange fluff balls.

I like the idea of the maid of honor having a floor length dress to stand out from the others and make the bridesmaids' dresses all knee-length (Although have you tried asking their opinion yet?)

But as long as they all tie together in terms of colour scheme, it will look fine!

Congrats!

okay, have the bridesmaids have a knee length dress and ask your moh if she would absolutely hate wearing a knee length dress, she shouldn't have to stick out like a sore thumb.

The only people it really should matter to are you (the bride) and the ladies who will be wearing the dresses. I would say as long as the dresses are similar in "dressiness" (formality) they should each get the length and style they are most comfortable in.

i think that it should be floor-length if you want a more formal look but since you are allowing the bridesmaid's to do different styles it might be cute to have different lengths
