Aliens are out of the question because it is obvious that we cannot be the only (out of trillions and trillions of galaxies) life forms, but do you believe in alien spaceships that are oddly in the shape of a... dish? why do people not describe any other shape beside a circle or sphere? And why does it seem that almost every UFO sighting describes the UFO magically breaking the laws of physics by like.. crashing into the water at really fast speed and not making a splash or some other bizzar thing?

So far we've seen no verifiable evidence of other sentient species. That said, I believe with some certainty that somewhere in our galaxy at some past, present, or future time, a sentient species did/does/will exist.

Why haven't we heard from them?

Perhaps they are not technologically advanced enough to be heard. They may be mastering stone knives right now, or experiencing their own Rennaisance.

Perhaps they are here right now. Any species sufficiently advanced to travel interstellar distances would be able to hide or masquerade with ease. That Boeing 737 that just flew by may be a surveillance craft.

Perhaps they are so far away they will never notice us and vice versa.

Perhaps they existed a million years ago and died out.

Perhaps they will exist a million years from now.

It is really impossible to know for sure.

The Drake Equation suggests that there is sentient life out there. The Fermi Paradox casts doubt. Play around with the calculation form at the second link and see what you think.

I believe in UFOs but I'm not sure I believe they're alien-made. It could be any number of things, from ball lightning to gas to bugs to human made machines.

A lot of them are hoaxes I know that, you can put a cutout on a fishing line and use that to videotape. Or one dude made a hat and ran through a farmer's field and freaked out the farmer.

And seriously, if they have the tech to come by, wouldn't they stop in for a chat? Or just not bother, you'd think they'd be able to see us from space if they wanted to.

So I think it's manmade, I can't id it though so I still call them UFOs.

Yes and no. Yes because in ancient drawings they drew UFOs in the sky with them looking and pointing at them. No because id there are UFOs why won't they come down and invade us? Wouldn't their space craft burn up in out atmosphere going through the mesosphere without heat resistance tiles on their space craft? And wouldn't they die withing minutes of touchdown on Earth because they don't know about our microorganisms here on Earth? We don't know for sure. Maybe it was just something people in the ancient times would do in their free time was drawing something intesting.
