Whoops, it's Ostrogoth, not Ostogoth. Stupid typo on my part. Thanks for pointing it out, Squirrelgirl.

Linking wikipedia gets an automatic thumbs-down rating and no best answer. Wikipedia is nothing but a battleground for pissed off nerds, it's not the great encyclopedia project it's meant to be.

According to every web-site ,I could find 2 tribes
of the Goths. The Ostogoths( Goths of the east ),and Visigoths (Goths of the west).
These are the only 2 tribes of Goths.Check it out at www.duerinck.com/goths.html.It will clarify any questions you have about a 3rd tribe. 3rd Tribe never existed.

I have never ever heard of a third tribe of Goths. I'm pretty sure there were only two tribes, the ostrogoths and the visigoths. There were similar cultures, but I've never heard of a third tribe. Although I don't recomend wikipedia I even checked that, and only found two tribes listed.

I think you may be using Gothic too freely. Ostrogoths and Visigoths are all Germanic Tribes and, along with those two, there is the Goth tribe.
All three are Germanic tribes, but there are many other Germanic tribes such as:
Vandals
Burgundians
Gepids
Etc.

I'm not sure there ever was a third . . . I've always heard only about the Ostrogoths and Visigoths -- basically the "Eastern" and "Western" Goths . . .

I can only find info on Ostrogoths and Visigoths. There doesn't seem to be a third group with "goth" in the name.

I believe it was the Gauls. It may have been the Lombards.
