Ok - first of all, that Filter Queen runs about $2000. ... so if you are like me and don't have that kind of money, invest in the Bissel Bagless Powerforce (Wal-Mart - $50-$100).

Sounds like you definitely have some clogs in your vacuum - and unless you have specialized tools, you probably won't be able to remedy that problem unless you take it into a vacuum store.

The thing I like about the vacuum I recommended is that you can access all the parts WITHOUT tools, and all the filters are washable. It got better reviews than that fancy Dyson they are advertising ($300-$500) in several aspects, by consumer reports.

To tell you the truth most vacs loose 80% of their cleaning ability 10 mins after operation. The problem is the pores in the bags and flat filters, they fill with particles then are released when the vac first turns on and thru the cleaning process.

If you want a good vac that doesn't blow what your cleaning back into your environment, look into a company called Filter Queen.

They basically have taken an air filter and turned it into a multi surface cleaning tool, it filters down to .01 microns where as most vacs can filter down to 2 microns. I purchased this vac when I found out my son had asma, he had to wait 8 hour after a cleaning session with regular vacs, till he could enter the house. With this Filter Queen, there was no wait.

Search your local are and see if there is a dealer, get a free consultation and see how it works.

The hose is clogged. If it is an upright, the clog is somewhere between where if enters the bag and the opening behind the brush. If it is a canister, remove the hose, bang it on the floor, and shake the clog out. If it doesn't work, push a broom through.

Yeah ... check the hoses, for sure. Also, if you have a beater-bar check to make sure the bristles aren't packed with hair and other debris. You'd be surprized how many people never check the bristle bar for built up dirt and hair. Burns the belt out, too. And check the air-filter, if your machine has one.

When this happens, I take mine completely or close to it, apart & blow it out w/ a shop~vac. Sometimes I change the air filter. Mine's bagless so I take the bucket out & anything that it touches out & clean it w/ hot water. Be sure to dry it thoroughly b4 put'g it back together.
