Where are you moving from and to? I live in Anchorage. You may need warmer clothes depending upon where you live now. You will need snow boots and coats for the winter, but you have plenty of time to get those. When are you coming up here? Housing is said to be expensive but I am unsure about the housing costs in other areas. Are you looking for info on jobs, etc. or do you have one set up already. I may be able to help if you can give me more information.

Narrow the scope of your question. You are moving to Alaska. Good. When?, Where?, etc.
Keep in mind Alaska is more than twice the size of Texas, and has 5 very distinct geographic regions.
Not easy for any of us to help without more detail.
