What is the fastest way to travel from either Hamburg or Jena to Berlin? Which is closer?

And how is the music scene in all these cities (preferably classical) ? Music related things to do?

The distance is about the same, Jena probably being a little bit closer, but from Hamburg its faster, since Hamburg - Berlin has an excellent train connection that tales only 1.44 hrs (for 288 km)

Forget Jena in terms of classical music.Berlin has two classical orchestras, the philharmonical and the symphonical orchestra.
However, Hamburg is also a good choice, being famous for its
musicals.(Unfortunately, the highly praised production of "Phantom of the Opera" in Hamburg is no more).But go for Berlin, there'll be more.

You'll get schedules for all musical events at the tourist information, there is so much in all of those cities, it would be impossible to post it here.

Easiest way to go from one city to the other would be by train, here you can find the schedules:
