A good poem is such an odd question, One persons poetry is another mans crap. My fave poem is a sonnet..."Shall I Compare Thee to a Summers Day", I also love "How do I love Thee", on darker ends of things "The Raven" Hope this helps

I know several. What kind are you looking for? Love, nature, spiritual, religious, etc....
Thou wouldst be loved
Then let thy heart
From its present pathway
Part not
Being everything
Which now thou art
Being nothing
Which thou art not
And with the world
Thy gentle ways
Thy grace
Thy more than beauty
Shall be an endless theme of praise
And love, a simple duty.

Good for what? Short or long? Funny or sad or thought provoking or soul stirring? I haven't read it in years but Evangeline was one of my old favorites. And the Highwayman. That was a thriller.
