being a teacher, my favorite part of the year is a day of two before the 4th of july and independence day, itself.

why?
1. teach american history at the college level. american history BEGAN when we declared our independence from tyrannical rule by England.
2. tje 4th of july signifies that summer vacation is JUST beginning. even thogh i teach 3 classes over the summer, the pace is slower and less hectic. (plus, it's only for six weeks).

Summer: no school, no crew, just soaking up sun under the canopy of trees....ahhhhh. And I get to read all I want, no obligations like homework. I also enjoy running around barefoot, and my birthday is in July.
