My ucle lives with my grandparents and his old friend keeps driving by their house at night, leaves nasty voicemails, leaves stuff outside and won't leave them alone. The cops said they couldn't do a restraining order since he hasn't done anything physical. They just said to call when he drove by but by the time they show up he would already be gone. Is there anything else they can do? My grandma is really worried that he might do something crazy and is thinking about moving because of it and I'm worried about their safety. He is crazy and who knows what he'll do.

Set up video to record it, works wonders to get the cops off their tail and into action.

My old friend had a crazy bf who did the same thing, and they wouldn't grant her a restraining order either because he didn't go on the property, etc. Just make sure you all do everything you can to not provoke it and start making a list of how many times & what hours he passes by the house. W/O information, the police can't do anything because of rules they themselves have to go by. But every time something happens, call them so there's a record.

Yep, a picture says a thousand words...so a video tape would be enough to overpower this moron & get him off the streets before someone puts him in a morgue or the ER! You should also call your PD back & speak to the Commanding Officer. Something CAN be done & should be ASAP! If you can't afford a video, then at least write down his license plate number & give it to the Police. Good Luck.
