my female betta stays at the top and bottom of the tank abd doesant move much whats wrong?????

That's not really unusual for a female betta. The are generally slow movers than aren't all that active in a tank. This is particularly true if she is a recent addition to your tank.

Does the filter out supply any floor agitation? If it would not there'll possibly no longer be sufficient oxygen in the water for the fish. try shifting the filter out so as that the water it pumps out falls onto the floor - you will see extra bubbles in the water. Did you enable the tank cycle in the past including the fish (Google cycling fish tanks...)? you have mandatory to handle the water with a chlorine medical care in case you used faucet water. regardless of all of this bettas can often be sluggish shifting fish so don't be too alarmed via his loss of circulate...

Is this unusual for her? I have had girls who just stare at me all day, and others who are like Olympic swimmers. Do you have a skinny tank? She may not be able to swim much if it's a tiny tank.

is their males in there maybe it is pregnant bloated maybe it is ill when mine was at the bottom it dies short after but check on it every hour or so and if it doesn't improve maybe there is something wrong and if its at the top allot there might be allot of chlorine in the water and you need to act fast before it dies in less than a day.

You happened to pick a particularly lazy Betta fish. They don't move much, but are very pretty. Don't worry about her.

i hope your tank isn't too deep. they should be kept in shallow water. they are also slow movers usually. they aren't as active as some other fish.
