Pulled this quote from TeamXbox.com who got to demo it "Yes, it’s disappointing that the X-Plorer isn’t wireless. However, RedOctane has said that it’s talking to Microsoft about making a wireless guitar as well. There’s nothing to report on there, but we’ll certainly pass on the info once it’s finalized. "
Also what I found what's cool is that you'll be able to plug your mic in... not for the game, but so you can still chat with your friends.

not necessarily wireless, but i do happen to know that wireless versions are out for the PS2, so you'll find that wireless versions for the xbox360 aren't too far away.
