Some people just aren't side sleepers :) I wake up quite frequently on my back, but I do flip flop during the night between sides. If you wake up on your stomach I would definitely move to a different position though :)

Hi Brittany
I am 15 weeks, so not quit as far as you but I have had problems sleeping since I found out at 9 weeks! I sleep very little and am always energized! I would love to sleep!! I have a hard time getting comfortable, almost like restless leg syndrom! My doc says it's just all the hormones but I am hoping they calm down. I was a stomach sleeper before I got pregnant- that was the ONLY way I could sleep so now it' s ever harder to try and learn a new way. I often want to roll back on to my belly. I have had to catch myself a few times. I would def. not sleep on your back, it cuts off the oxygen supply to the baby. You can lay there for a few mins like that but then roll to one side or the other. As far along as you are, I wouldn't recommend laying on your belly but I am not 100% sure on that.
I would say i don't think you're hurting the baby. Maybe sleep on your belly for a little while, then try to turn over onto your side if possible.
I relaly hope I have helped you a little bit. Don't worry to much about it :)

Yes that is completely normal especially if you use to sleep that way before you were pregnant. Even though it is best for you to sleep on your sides sleeping on your back or stomach really isn't putting you and your baby at a huge risk.
To get more comfortable try getting A LOT of pillows and put them behind you ........ you might even put your bed up against the wall and then put the pillows up against the wall and then lay next to them.
Or if you have a boyfriend/fiance/husband/whatever that sleeps with you. Try having both of you sleep on your sides and have him snuggle from behind holding you.
Worked for me and it was actually pretty comfortable.
If these don't work don't worry you will work something out you just have to get use to sleeping while being pregnant. Just something new you will adjust to.

While it is better for blood flow for you to sleep on your sides it doesn't mean your hurting your baby if you sleep any other way. I am 31 weeks pregnant and I find it impossible to sleep on my sides all the time. Babycenter.com has more info. Congrats on the baby!

try to sleep on your sides as much as possible, preferably the left side. this helps blood flow to the baby. it's more comfortable to use a body pillow and stick it between your legs.
