I am trying to go somewhere (Mexico) and don't know what hotel to pick? I want to go all inclusive, but what to choose. Riviera Maya area, any thoughts from those that have been?

Here is a website to help you decide.

http://www.tripadvisor.com

Tons of info and reviews on this site.

The Palace resorts are getting excellent reviews. Also the Rui resorts are popular. If you are a couple and want a couples only resort Le Blanc is rated #1

Do some research and if you have any more questions, come back and we'll try to help you.

Good luck and have some fun researching.

I would contact a professional travel agent. If you find a good agent then they can ask you various questions to determine which they feel is the best choice for you. To stay within your budget, needs/wants, location, amenities, room categories, etc.

I would read trip advisors if that makes you feel comfortable, but I would also take them with a grain of salt. Problems can happen with travel that are unavoidable and unfortunately some travelers allow this to ruin there entire stay. I mean if it is one that has "Nothing but complaints", probably not a good sign! Sometimes hotels will post for one another as well, sad but true.

That is again why I would work with an agent because we aren't bias on hotels, vendors, etc. Our goal is to get you what you want within your dates. Find a good enough agent and they know if it is a good price or not.

I have even down sold people over the years if I felt that it wasn't worth the money. Like any job there are the good, the bad and the ugly! You should be able to get an idea if the one you are talking to is knowledgeable because in my experience years in the business don’t make you good, you are either good or your not! Don't get me wrong you do need those years to get experience, but it doesn't automatically make one a good agent.

It's late and I'm sleepy so sorry for the lengthy post =)

Have a great trip and remember to book in advance as rates are based on availability.

Well First what do you want out of a hotel.

All included means that your meals and drinks are included in the package.

Most hotels are very nice even the three star hotels.

You should ask in Expedia or other search agent for the Vacation package Air, Hotel and car. It is better to rent a car if traveling from the hotel to other spots. There are many things to do in cancun. Check out Island of Mujers costs about 42 dollars per person. You can get drunk on the boat and it includes a lunch, and time on the beach, even snorkeling if you like. The Xcaret is nice but expensive costs about 100 dollars from two people and this does not include snorkel rental or swim fins. That is additional. The park is very long to walk ,but beautiful. Nice place to see fish and turtles. For T-shirts and souvineers go to Mercado in down town. I think it is 49. I do not remember well. Just ask. T-shirts are about 5 dollars or less a piece. Many other things to pick from. It is a good experience: I was just there.

I also go with price and location 1st. An all inclusive package is a great idea because you can eat and drink as much as you want, and go into all the shows, water sports and attarctions without spending more than you have since you already payed for everything in advance. Most 5 star hotels have this facility in Cancun. Go for it!
