it would be cheaper and easier to just buy a new laptop they usually run from any where on ebay from $300-$700.
but since you have an Ibook i would check the apple website and see if your logic board is one of the many recalled ones so just go to there website and check and see if your model number is listed and if it is then you might not have to pay anything for it

Truth, if you trashed your laptop AND it's out of warranty, buy a new one!
If under warranty, call tech support.
No laptop should self-destruct when left on too long.

essentially... its cheaper to buy a new laptop.
However... the thing should not overheat from being left on if you didn't block the air vents. Check and see if there is a recall, or if it can be covered by warranty.

never knew you could do that! thanks! but its probably going to cost the same to replcace the system board as to buy a whole new laptop! just go and get a quote and see.
