I'm from a family of mediums and we think that it's real but they need to make it in to a show and employ show men to do this. The mediums are real but they milk it alot for the show but the places they visit are real with real spirits invoved.

There are many things about the world and nature we still don't understand (and won't it be boring if a time comes when we do?). It's human nature to try to describe things we don't understand in terms that will mean things to us.
At one time, we didn't know what the stars were, what the moon was made of, what caused earthquakes and what lay on the other side of the horizon so people made guesses based on the knowledge of the time. These days we know the answers to all these posers but there are still things that seem to be happening that we can't answer.
Noises that sound human and even apparitions. Furniture that moves apparently by itself. There is probably a logical and measurable reason for all these things, we just haven't found it yet.
What's the bet that in 500 years, the locals of that time will be looking back over our current research, laughing their heads off saying "They really thought it was ... dead people."

If it's false, they should have atleast made the fraud more interesting don't you think? Which makes me think it might be real. But deep down I believe that "there are no haunted places - just haunted people" as was once stated by a skeptic.
Here's my problem with it. "Knocking" occurs when a person's bones strike a surface through the skin. Spirits have no bones so what are they knocking with?

Why sit in the dark asking a 'presence' to make itself apparent, then run around screaming when it does? The show is losing what credibility it had and does no service for serious study of the paranormal. My fear is that one day one of the crew will spill the beans and admit that it is all made up.
It is a job well done to keep all those people on the crew and no one going to the sunday press, so maybe they believe what they are experiencing.
Anyone noticed the escalation in 'evidence' ? Two years ago they were lucky to show a 'knock knock' but now they are regularly recording sighs and whispers.

Hi, I think it is fake for several reasons. BUT I do think they occassionally come across unexplainable things, mostly... it's a scam. Table-knocking went out in the early 1900's. And if there are "knockings" to signify spirit communication, WHY do they ALWAYS sound the same? Uhmmm, could it be the same sound man on the set? AND I fully agree with the following comments: if you're gonna go ghost hunting, why run, scream, curse, and cry when you find something?
Not totally false... but mostly false. I vote best paranormal on GHOST HUNTERS on the Sci-Fi channel.

Well, some of the places they go to do have evidence of something unexplained. whether this is paranormal or not is debatable.
They almost always go for a paranormal explanation before looking for other answers and, you never really see anything happening.
It's just entertainment really so, probably fake although the most haunted crew believe what they see and hear is paranormal.

I'm sure half the time local ghost stories are perpetuated for the sake of tourism. Which doesn't mean that unexplained stuff doesn't happen. As the X-Files people would say, "The truth is out there!"

Each week we see lots of people running about in the dark crying.Derek (very camp one) is the only one who can feel the presents of the ghosts.Don't you think that by series 7 we would have seen some sort of proof?

I used to LOVE that programme, although these days I do wonder if 75 percent of it is down to group hysteria.
I do question some of it, I am a believer in spirit, but not gullible!
