Never heard of Lost, but American Idol-definitely overrated.

Well, I am sure you will have fans for both shows.
American Idol is fluff.....well, at least now it is. Its become a part of the FOX machine, and it all seems so fake and dramatized. Watching peoples hopes and dreams get dashed to the floor by a has been musician, a has been singer, and some guy in a tiny black muscle shirt....blech.
But LOST on the other hand...at least its cloaked in mystery and theory, and the characters have developed in to people that literally leap off the screen. While I do feel the producers are dragging a bit on some plots and story arcs, for the most part, the acting is superb, the location is beautiful, and its entertaining in a brainy way.

American Idol is way overrated as it's really a popularity contest that can have its results skewed with internet campaigns. Paula Abdul is hot though.
Lost is a great show that has to be watched from the first episode to be understood.
That being said I have watched Lost since the beginning and am totally confused.....

American Idol is, but Lost isn't.
Then again, maybe that's a little biased because I watch Lost every week and I never watch American Idol.

Yes. At one point maybe those shows had something going on, but the formula for LOST is long gone....as for American Idol it's the same thing over and over again....they could put reruns of last session on every year and no one would know.

I don't know about Lost, but American Idol is. I'm tired of that show. It's useless. Fox should find something new.

I don't have a TV, so Idon't watch them...but...if millions of people are watching the shows and talking about them the next day - then how can they be overrated?
The reality is that lots of people enjoy both of these shows and so sell a lot of ad space which makes the companies a lot of money - and when that stops, the shows will cease too.
And new shows will take their place - maybe you will think those shows are overrated too!
