I had a hacker get into my computer and has sent messages in my yahoo account to people. one of which was a link to porn site. i know they know what software i have installed as they mentioned one in an email to my brother in law. also the sent messages do not appear in my sent folder. i only know of the porn site one because it was not able to be delivered. i use mozilla firefox mostly and thought it would be better protection but obviously it was not. is there anyway of knowing when the intruder got in to the computer.

Are you sure someone has hacked your computer? More likely, if someone is indeed using your Yahoo account, they have cracked your password. Change your Yahoo password and they shouldn't be able to get in - make sure that they haven't changed any settings so that they can use the forgot password link.

Often spammers will send messages appearing to be messages that could not be delivered, when in fact they are not, so I would not use the message you received as a way to confirm that someone has hacked your account.
