When I was 5 years old I had a birthday party. At that party there were one grandmother, one grandfather, two mothers, two fathers, four children, three grandchildren, one brother, two sisters, two sons, two daughters, one father in-law, one mother in-law and one daughter in-law. There were only seven people total. How is this possible?

the teacher told us to make family trees to help us. I still dont understand. It sounds crazyyyy. If you can figure this out, help would be most appreciated :] thank you!!!

Maybe you should just ask Mr. Emerson tomorrow!

Who are you? And why do you cheat on all the POTWs?

The grandmother must be a mother, and the grandfather must be a father, that's 4 people (2 mothers and 2 fathers). Everybody is a child and a grandchild, so you can ignore that. Each mother is a daughter so you can ignore that, and each father is a son so you can ignore that. Also each grandfather is a father in law because his child obvioulsly had kids, and the same goes for the grandmother being a mother in law.

So that makes 4 people out of all that.

Now we have the three remaining people, all of which we assume are related, so they are all brother and 2 sisters.

That makes 7

Consider the fact that you are a daughter, a granddaughter, a sister (if you have siblings), a neice and a cousin, and yet, you're just one person.
