It was revolution man! Peace and love, no time for slavery! Seriously there was apartied in Africa and still strong racism in America. Mild segration especially in the south. Black and whites still kept a distance but, things were on there way to getting better. Gangs were gaining momentum, and alot of factories began closing down, especially in California near Compton and Watts. I think that was one of the most negative things that happened around that area. Becuase the people who had spent 20 years working in factories were out of work. We're talking about 1,000's of black people who were uneducated who was now uneployed. I'm sure white people lost jobs too, but it affected the black community more. Also there was certain white people in the government (note: NOT ALL WHITE PEOPLE) who was futher pushing drugs into the black community. What those dummies never thought was the fact that it would in turn affect the white community. when it began affecting them it was then a real problem. One of the biggest we have today beside the gun volence. All this did not happen in this one year, but it all happened in increasing degrees during this decade. I only concentrated on the big stuff so if this a little of target I'm sorry.
