MY SON TURNS 18 TODAY & I THOUGHT THERE WAS SOMETHING BY LAW THAT ALL MALE 18 YR OLDS HAD TO REGISTER FOR CONCERNING THE MILITARY. I THOUGHT THEY HAD TO REGISTER AT THE POST OFFICE. WHAT IS THIS CALLED? THANK YOU !

Right. Selective Service. You can go to the post office to do it, or you can do it online!

(Check out the Selective Service website... it's extremely informative and answers questions like, why don't girls register? What happens if there's a draft? Who will get drafted? etc. Really good info.)
(And it's 18-25; and I believe they take 20 year olds first, then 19, and it would be highly unlikely that they would have to draft people of any other ages considering the U.S.'s current military status and nature of warfare.)

Selective Service registration. Even though we don't have a draft, he and all males between 18 and 35 years of age still have to be registered for it should we need it.

He is required to register for the draft. Call your local city hall to find out where he needs to go.

this would be called stupid, considering that they have not reinstated the draft yet, but they soon will be, they are waiting for us to invade Iran first. they have already up the draft age to 41, and if they up the age it was for a reason.
