why might beer in The U.S. sell at a differenct price.

It is about a $1 a beer. For imported it is close to $1.50

Where in Canada can you buy a beer for $2.19? Haven't seen that since the late 80's or earlier.
Beer in the U.S. might sell at a different price because it is far weaker than the Canadian beer.

Around $1.65, depending on the exchange rate. I travel to Canada a lot, my rule of thumb is that everything in Canada costs 1.25 it's USA cost. So in your case, about 75% less.

Look at any cash register in Canada, most of them will have the exchange rate from US<>Canadian posted on it for dummies like me to see. I often pay with US currency when in Canada, then I come back with a pocket full of loonies and twonies.

Depends where you buy it. If you go to a hockey game its $12 /glass.
