Cabo Roig was once famous because Terry Wogan had a place there.

When I went for the first time thirteen years ago in was quiet and quite expensive.

These days, however (like most places on the Costas) the English have moved in and, sadly, it is not the "real" Spain it was.

However, it is still quieter than Torrevieja as mentioned in another posting.

The marina and beaches are nice.

Cabo Roig was once considered a very posh and expensive place to live, and some still like to try and sell this fact. Now I'm afraid we have over run most of the Costa Blanca and it is now a building site and you can see for miles the developments in and around Villa Martin, La Regia and Cabo Roig. I wouldn't want to live there as there are too many ex pats. I live in the outskirts of Benidrom now and the expat community is not that big...thank God!! I have lived in Spain 16 years, and used to sell property in the South.
By the way the beach by La Zenia is quite nice but very busy in the summer.

The beaches are nice. It is very close to Torrevieja. There are lots of English people living and holidaying there, as well as English shops and restaurants etc. It would be odd for someone to speak Spanish in fact. This is handy if you want a holiday with little complications and don't speak the language. If you are looking to enjoy the Spanish culture, it would not be ideal though. It is close to places that you can go and visit if you like to see some Spanish culture though, such as Murcia and Cartagena and everything is pretty easily reachable with a car.
