I've heard about this book twice in the past week, and one was on CBC Sunday- an interview with a woman who defended it (she teaches a 5-day workshop based on it), and one who criticized it. Based on what I heard, I tend to agree with the critic. It sounds like a lot of fluff... will visualizing a gold necklace really make me have one?? hmmm. Anyone out there who has read this? what do you think?

A friend gave me a copy. And it's the base of a lot of our jokes now.

To save you from paying good money for it, here's the secret:
"visualize what you want and it will be attraced to you and find you - if it doesn't find you, it's because YOU are not doing it right". Poor, stupid you...

This secret works especially well with cancer patients I think. The ones who get cured must practice the secret well, those that do not just didn't do a good enough job attracting the cure to themselves. Poor, stupid them.

Do you see what snake oil that is?

Anyone who gives this chick a dime is just an unthinking loser.
If you give $20 to the Ronald McDonald house, you'll at least feel good about yourself and will really help.

It's somewhat ridiculous when you really think about it. Of course, it makes sense to live your life with a positive attitude (positive energy attracts positive energy). But that's close to the same logic as someone involved in a airplane crash where 150 passengers are killed and one of the few survivors say "God saved me... it's a miracle!" Does that mean God didn't care about the other 150? Sorry... no miracle for you today. Duh. And if you get cancer, did you get it because you didn't know "the secret?" I don't think so...

Yes, and if it worked, I would be sitting here counting out my 370 million dollars from last week's Powerball drawing. Just more new age gar-bage to sell books.

All I have heard about it was the Larry King show where a co-author was saying children that get raped and killed bring it on themselves--SICK...I won't waste my money on such filth...
