Yes. Here's why. First, people who believe there are so many liberals and socialists in this country are usually being very liberal with those words and applying them to people that aren't really either. The more extreme your view is, the more extreme others appear to you, even those who aren't that extreme. You make alot of false assumptions that other Americans are out to destroy this country because you don't understand or agree with their views or motives. However, if you separate them out as individuals, you'll find that most are not out to destroy the country and their actions are no more or less harmful than those of the people you admire and agree with. The very few that are out to destroy the country, who have declared war on America, are being watched. Those are the ones we should focus on. If you focus on other Americans, you are allowing the real enemy to divide and conquer us with ridiculous 2 party politics. There are much worse things to deal with and they are already here.

First,a quick question to you.Why do you hate ANYONE??Do you not realize that that is why the people in in Islamic countries like Iraq and Iran have been fighting and killing each other since the beginning of their time?
To answer your question, there is a great difference between socialism and liberalism.Socialist countries tend to have a central ruling authority who makes all the decisions, where we in this country elect a president to guide us through our own(peoples) decisions as to how we want our country to conduct itself. In a socialist country the ruling authority controls pretty much all buisness while here we have free enterprise.Concerned conservatives(Republican) like less government control but still have the publics best intrests in mind while Liberals tend to see goverment handling more things with stricter control of things we the people seem not to be able handle ourselves.Conservatives tend to believe "every man or woman for him/herself and being more self sufficient while Liberals are more of a nature to lend a helping hand to the down trodden. The difference is knowing when to stop helping and putting people on a course to handle their own problems.Welfare has become distorted and ugly in it's current condition,is a good example.Too many programs to give handouts without expecting anything in return. It needs to be corrected, not destroyed. And please try not to hate everyone like you do.Try more to understand differing points of view.

Hatred breeds hate. Your hating a group of people known for their tree hugging peace wanting (to a fault) ways, sounds completely irrational to me. As far as destroying this great country, your boy George has a head start. Hatred will do the rest.

In your exact question, is it irrational to hate libs and socialists?

The answer is yes. It's irrational because your hatred of them will not change their minds, or too many other peoples'. If you had a rational dislike however, and could lay out your reasons very carefully, honestly, factually and in a cool, calm, collective manner, you'll find it much easier to get people on your side, which I believe is what you ultimately want (me too).

Irrational hatred is exactly what we're fighting in the Middle East, remember? Make your arguements clear and concise, and you'll eventually get more people on our side.

Your view on liberals/socialists comes off as extremely irrational. Just because they don't share your viewpoints doesn't mean they're "out to destroy this great country."

Hatred of any broad group is irrational, especially when it is solely because they might believe some things that you disagree with.

It's attitudes like that which are destroying this country, which was founded on diversity, and based on a Constitution the emphatically asserts the right of people to have and express different opinions.

So, who is trying to destroy the country? The people who are participating in the political process? Or the people who want to throw out the Constitution and punish anyone who disagrees with them?

You would have really hated Thomas Jefferson
The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it to be always kept alive. It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all. I like a little rebellion now and then.
Or Dwight D Eisenhower
Dwight D. Eisenhower, quotes :
Here in America we are descended in blood and in spirit from revolutionists and rebels -- men and women who dare to dissent from accepted doctrine. As their heirs, we may never confuse honest dissent with disloyal subversion

and the Declaration

Declaration of Independence, But, when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.

People may associate liberals with those that expect the Government to take care of them and any babies they want to produce. And to let society run amuck with no regard to moral or social values.
There needs to be a balance, where people can choose and live their lives but live with certain norms and expectations that are known to make America great.
I don't know what party that would be - maybe the Independent party.
