I never exchange before travel , I use my ATM and always get the best rates at the bank when I arrive.

The exchange rate at the airport is the worst possible rate. Better to exchange it at a Mexican bank. They are VERY picky and will not take bills with tears or any marks on them. If you are from a border state, your ATM card should work in Mexico. When you use an ATM machine you get the best possible exchange rate. Bank of America ATM cards work in Mexico. you can also call the customer service number on your ATM card and ask if that card can be used in Mexico. You may need to exchange a little at the bank in the states or at the airport for taxi money you will need right away.

I'd say NO don't exchange it here. Its a rip off most of the time especially in the AIRPORT, you will get a better exchange rate when your are in Mexico. I lived in Mexico for 1 Year and I used my atm Debit card in atm's there or exchanged it in any bank. Try using banamex (here in the states its called Citibank). Thats a widely known and trusted bank there as well.

Have fun good luck.

PS> if you do use a ATM card make sure it says Cirrus or even Star Network on it. You may have surcharges but its better then carrying alot of money on you. Of course use the ATM in the bank if there is one or alot of the time they are outside in a secure building.

Yes, you can do it at any bank, airport and money exchange offices which you will find plenty of. A lot of stores even accept US dollars so dont worry about it. You go to sleep calmly. Have a great trip tomorrow!

no , but you should go to a city. it's called Santiago Papasquaro you should NOT do it here they rip you off. ooooh i luv monterrey. you go to this one place in Santiago, but i forgot what it's called. u can ask someone cuz they ought to know its a community where many people know each other. they give you exactly how much the exchange rate is. nothing lower. lol hope this helps:)

Try to change before getting here... otherwise if you want to pay a taxi will be much more expensive than using pesos.
