It was the Helots. These people were considered as slaves or serfs. They were generally people from lands conquered by the Spartans. They, similar to the serfs during the Middle Ages, were given a piece of land to cultivate. Their share was generally 50%, and the other 50% was given to the Spartan landholder (this would be akin to the results of a 50% income tax today).
All Spartan men served in the military until they were 60 years old. Their wives managed the lands and wealth. Spartan women were well-educated and had equality with the men.

That would be the Helots, their slaves who worked the fields, and the Periokoi, non citizens who would have done all other artisan type work, such as pottery, baking, building, etc.
Full blood Spartans did not do common labor, they trained full time as soldiers. The women ran the households.

Helots and Periokoi. The Spartans had conquered their nearby neighbors and forced them to live as serfs, farming the land. The women were required to run the households and stay healthy in order to breed more warriors. It wasn't equality by modern standards, but they enjoyed more status than the slaves and serfs.

Slaves did nearly all of the work. Sparta was dedicated to the training of soldiers, and little else.

I believe that the women who remained at home did some of the work. I am not totally sure on that though.

Women, slaves, and they may have taken food from the people they were warring with.
I.E. if the conquered a city, they might have burned it and taken all the supplies, soldiers, and women.
