very interesting question... I have no idea, maybe an army surplus store, lol

I would start inquiring with the military, if you are seriously looking you better look at all the details too... where would you keep it, how much maintenance/fuel/repairs would cost? remember teams of 100-1000+ maintain these things... in the private market the overhead of such an idea is completely impractical, wher if you are the government you have endless income for funding.

Wow what luck! I have been trying to sell an aircraft carrier for a little over a month now.

It is 625 yds. long and 42 yds. wide. Has 8 levels and can hold a range of different aircrafts to helicopters.

Its just sitting in my backyard now collecting some sun rays. Ill take $5,000 for it. Oh btw I live in Chicago.

Most of them after decommisioned are sold for scrap. The carrier I was on USS Ticonderoga is now razor blades, and they have reused the name Ticonderoga.

try the US Govt Surplus property list or the office of general accounting. You might be better off with a fast minelayer or patrol craft as the mainetenance on a flattop is horrible.

You'll have LOTS of salvage competition finding one, The steel hulls that the U.S. Navy requires is a much higher grade than regular grade marine steel.

Look at decommisioned ship list...US navy website...

I doubt they'll allow someone to purchase one....only non-profit orgs and cities can have these as museums, they then proceed to gut any military use equipment from them.
