You can make money designing websites, but to tell the truth, with no experience, and little education, it's tough, because too many people out there already have these skills, just from
using a PC for years.
The big boom for work like that was years ago.
If you can learn to use modeling software, like 3ds max, you can get a good job in Hollywood, if you are good, fast, and accurate. To a lesser extent, video game companies will hire you, but those are really hard to get, and you have to be really good.
Art, in and of itself does not generally pay a lot, because people don't value it.
If you can program a computer in C++, you could start your own programming company. Still, it is hard to get those jobs.
If you are looking for makework, meaning working with computers, working for another company that employs you, and you have no experience, start off by going to a library, and learning office, powerpoint, and other software from books. Then go to work for a temp agency, doing database work, and other computer office work.
I did that for a while and routinely made 15.00 an hour, except that I also had language skills such as German, Japanese and Chinese. I essentially had a job that was "Sit in an office and do light typing, unless it was to call up someone in France or China, and schedule a business meeting." For 15.00 an hour. Easiest job I ever had.
There are many executives that do not know how to use a computer, don't have the time, and would rather have someone else do it.
But to do computer art, most of the people that have those jobs already have them, and you would be competing with people that have an art degree or work experience, already.
Perhaps, you might be able to get into some art gallery with computer art work, and make a little on the side that way, or more if you are super talented, and can think outside the box, and create new things.
In the end, I do computer art for fun. I actually get paid for writing.
I won't say you are on the wrong path, but art, and other creative things, like acting, writing, generally is not the big path to money unless you are really talented, and work REALLY hard. If that is your situation, you can make it in the art / creative world, but you also have to be able to present yourself and have people skills. Knowing the right people, plus talent, plus hard work, study, etc. is the key.
Otherwise, find daily work, and do your art for fun, and / or money on the side.
