1. 'Pointed to' is much better than 'indicated to'.
2. No need to repeat 'Freiburger'; replace by 'he'.
3. The apostrophe-s is superfluous.
4. 'Preceptorship' requires an article here.
5. 'Programme' is spelled with -mme at the end, except where it refers to a computer program. (But if this is for an American publication, then leave it as 'program'.)
6. 'Assists' should have an s at the end.
7. 'in developing', rather than 'to develop' (One can help to develop, or assist in developing.)
8. comma after 'clinical skills'
9. 'Self-confidence' is usually spelled with a hyphen.
10. Replace the comma after 'self-confidence' by the word 'and'.
11. 'Competence' sounds better than 'competency'. (I'm not quite sure about that one.)
12. no comma after 'competence'
13. 'enables' with an s at the end
14. The word 'of' in the last line is superfluous.
15. There is no s at the end of the word 'patient', since it is used here as an adjective.

Freiburger (2002) indicated the role of preceptorship is to enhance performance management among newly qualified nurses. Furthermore, the preceptorship program assists the nurses to develop clinical skills, confidence, and the required competency that enables them to provide a high standard of patient care.

Standards are more service related. Quality is more product related.

comma after (2002). I would change the wording of 'indicated to' to something like 'commented on'.
Sentence 2 - 'stated that' instead of 'that's'. 'programmes' instead of 'program'. Comma after clinical skills. No comma after competency. Also I would take out the 'of' at the end and just say ' high quility patient care'. Hope that this helps!

you might want to avoid starting both senences with Freiburger, it starts to get repetitive when you do that. After you use a person's name in a paragraph, it is acceptable to use a pronoun in following sentences, as long as you don't introduce another proper noun.

do not understand the 1st bit - as much as the 1st finished provide up. would not make any experience "indicated to the situation". After that "Frieburger stated that the preceptorship programmes help newly qualified nurses to develope medical skills, self-worth, competency and enable them to offer severe high quality affected person care" Am I a sensible female? or purely particularly sensible?
