My husband and I are thinking about signing up for Kaiser insurance. What do you think of the slightly bad reputation that Kaiser has -- is it warranted, or not? What is your opinion of Kaiser?

Kaiser went out of business in North Carolina if that tells you anything - I would not go with them.

Alll health care carriers have good and bad about them; just as there are good and bad MDs. My husband and I have used Kaiser for about 20 years in CA and probably will never change. It was great when the kids were born (no large bill to pay) and when they were younger & into sports such as football.

We've never had a problem being referred to specialists or to outside MDs if necessary.

I would take Kiaser over most other heath-care programs.

Kiaser is a self-contained organization meaning, the money you spend stays within the organization with less middle-man and red tap in the event you have to see a specialist.

I have had Blue Cross and other like it and there was more bureaucracy.
