I would tell you to do an internship or look for further schooling. You are not just going to walk into a job in some history field, it is very crowded right now. (I know, I have a bachelors and masters in history from quality schools.)

Also, you may want to look at getting a teaching license or going on in a field such as law or another area closely related to history. (Or even specializing in conservation, historical architecture, or library science.)

Check out this website, they have some good info for those in history: http://www.historians.org/

Your chances of getting a specifically history-related job with your B.A. in history are small, though check at a local museum or historical site and see what they might have -- especially if you are willing to take an entry level job.
More to the point, you now have to sell yourself on the basis that you have a good education, you were determined enough to get that education and you are willing to put the various skills you have learned to work. One of my students used his B.A. (History) to get a job with the city helping to run the adult literacy program. Another got a job as a civilian employee of the local police force running the anti-graffiti program. Be imaginative; what you make of your degree and of yourself is just that, what YOU make of it.
Good luck.

I hear they're hiring at Quiznos.

Just kidding, I have a degree in history. A BA won't get you much these days. Consider getting your Master's. You could go into teaching, library science, archival management, museum curation, many things.

I would think you could pursue a teaching degree and then teach. I don't think it's hard to get a teaching certificate once you have a B.A.
