I have the most important geography test on friday. Our teacher told us to memorize every wird (12 chapters). I have been studying a lot this previous week and even late night studying with these giant numbers and facts, but I've only memorized 5 chapters and i finally gave up. A lot of my friends are just reading and comprehending but I'm an A student and my parents are expecting a lot from me! How do think I should study for THIS test? I have 4 days left!

I usually just memorize things for that, but I guess it's basically the same thing as studying. I always get good grades for doing that! Just read over your homework or textbooks over and over and eventually, you will learn the material.

Don't cram, that will "freeze" everything you've tried to hold in your head. Unless this is the first exam from this teacher, what type of information did they seek on previous exams? Reflect on that, and study accordingly. If this is your first exam and, regardless I would do this, pick the important things from the chapters. Memorizing word-for-word almost is not only hard, you'll never completely retain it--now or in the future because you didn't study the material to learn it. I'm not trying to scare you, but studying this way has one VERY TRAGIC flaw: If the instructor words the question(s) a different way than the way the information was presented in the book, you're lost. Not to "belabor" the point, but let me show you what I mean: If I ask you this question, could you tell me? A well-known river that runs through Egypt is called what? If I phrased it: The Nile is a well-known river in what country, could you still tell me the information I want?

well, you should really know all the stuff by now, i assume you get homework and quizzes for each chapter you read and discuss in class? The teacher is gonna test you on what he/she thinks important, you should know how he thinks by now. If he likes to have you know numbers, study those, if he likes facts more concentrate on those. Go over your old work, get the gist of each chapter, and do the problems in the book that werent assigned for practice anyway.

It is a rare person who can literally memorize chapters. A successful student can look through these and find the "meat". Then memorize that.
Also with something like geography, sometimes mnemonics help. This is like memorizing things by acronyms. For example, Oslo, Norway becomes ON.
You can do this for all of Scandanavia and make a word you can remember.

It's a little late. You should be reviewing the tests given by the teacher for the last several years that you've gotten from her past students. You've got to go on what she has told you to study. You can't know everything about geography. That's why you need to play the probabilities of what she might ask on the test.

Every wird? I hope that was a typo. :)
I swear by flashcards. They might take a while to make, but you learn as you make them and it makes studying so easy. You can keep them with you can pull them out every time you have a few minutes to spare.
