After I read The Snows of Kilimangaro I went to the store and got three yellow legal sized notepads and a pen. I wrote three vignettes in about a half hour and have writing ever since. (I post some of my writing on my 360 page.) That is the short version of how I started writing.

I was fascinated by lies. I figured I could lie as well as most folks and better than many. That was true. However, the more I wrote the more I discovered how complicated the truth is.
Nowadays, however, I just like to tell stories. It makes no difference true or false.
By the way; when did I write that book (FIFTEEN)? I do remember it was one of my better lies, or was it (SIXTEEN)?

My family lived in the middle of nowhere so I needed to develop an imaginaton to keep from being bored to death. Books also came in handy, and my parents had a good amount, plus we'd go to the library every week. It also helped that I learned how to read when I was 3 and was reading "chapter books" as we called them in kindergarten.

Then when I was eleven my parents got our first computer and began to write stories in Word, and from there I just kept going.

I write because it's who i am. I've tried other things and they were never me. People always said i was a good writer, and i always loved writing, but even the possibility of becoming a writer didn't occur to me until two years ago.
It's strange how people search for who they are when it's right in front of them. One day they'll trip on it.

Well, thank you. How nice of you to say.

I write because I'm compelled to write, because writing is a creative outlet for me.
