Obviously we can begin by stating the fact that you are in the small minority of Americans that think that Bush is doing a good job. That established, ok, let's put it this way, not only is Bush related to Elizabeth II, but also Clinton is related. Yes, that makes Bush and Clinton related, sorry to point that one out to you. So, we could just as easily say, why is Clinton not in line for being the head of State of Britain.
Ok, now that we have all of that out of the way, perhaps you should learn more about how the Bitish establish who should reign over their country. If it were decided that the decendents of Eliz. were not to take over the monarchy, there would be closer relatives before we moved over to the US and picked an American, who is not closesly related.
And, let's remember one thing, that has even bee metioned in this tirade, it really doesn't matter who is the head of the Monarchy, they do not rule the country, did you forget about Tony Blair, the P.M., he is the one who is really the "ruler' of the UK, he is more like our President than the Queen. Bush would not make a great figurehead. He isn't any more regal then the royal family. I guess with his daughters and all their drugs and shenanigans they too could keep the world entertained as the royal family has done world wide.
And interesting to know there is someone from Texas, home of Kinky Friedman, who still has respect for Bush and believes that there is a god.

We've been jealous of WHAT???? I'm sure you're just saying all that unmitigated rubbish to get a rise out of us.
Bush's leadership? Surely there's a contradiction of terms here. He sat stock still listening to a school story when he was informed about 9/11. He'd have impressed those youngsters a lot more if he'd got off his backside and did his job.
The UK has ALWAYS been jealous of your egotistical country have we? So, what was your leadership doing in 1086 (The Doomsday Book) - or - 1509 (The Coronation of Henry VIII and the conception of the Royal Navy), oh, that's right ... IT DIDN'T EXIST. Your country is based on immigrants from this country and Europe taking land from the original inhabitants.
By the way, a number of us are increasingly thinking that it would be better to cut ties with Europe and the US and restrengthen relations with our historical allies, The Commonwealth. God Bless Canada.

No one in Britain is jealous of the USA and we do not want stronger ties with America, rather any ties we might have now be severed. No one in the UK would win if George Bush was on the throne. Most British people think he is a joke.

Well -- there are a few people in line for the throne who direct relatives lol and most of England hate Bush and disagree with his policies. And its not the 10th century you don't "will" out the throne its given to the next in line a tradition of about 1000 years. Quite honestly while I've always been for bush -- even I can say he's gone a little to far with things and maybe its a good thing he can't be re-elected and shouldn't be the leader of any country.

Unfortunately that would be impossible. First of all you have to speak English which Bush has a very very hard time doing. Second you have to have "class" something he lacks so very much - i.e. "Yo, Blair" he yells to Tony Blair at a conference...duh, Georgie!!!
Also, Britain, nor any other country, is jealous of the USA. In fact, when most US students backpack through Europe, they sew on another country's flag so they are treated much better.
So sorry all you folks in the US of A. You elected him, you get to keep him after too. He wouldn't be smart enough to take a citizenship test anywhere. Texas, you can keep him. We'll keep Prince William....someone a million times better!

Unfortunately, I don't believe we have an 'electric throne' here, otherwise I would certainly agree with you.
We may like visiting your country, it's warm, generally friendly (apart from your national sport of shooting each other) and it reminds us of the meaning of words like 'heritage' and 'history', it makes us glad to be 'Limeys' and when we come back home we can look at our castles and 1000+ year old buildings, trivial things like over a thousand years of Monarchy etc. and really know what those words mean.
I'll try to refrain from calling you an arrogant bloody collonial out of respect for the many, many of your countrymen that I met whilst I was in the Middle East, that unlike yourself and your warmongering lunatic of a president, were brave men that actually did your fine country proud.
Mr Texas, you are either a joker or you are a moron, I suspect the latter, but I remain open.

This question is quite packed with silly comments. How can any sane human being use George Bush and leadership in the same sentence?
Send Bush to be king of France and let him eat cake. They have a history of giving out those close haircuts.

I dont think we'd develop 'even stronger' ties with UK. Bush has already proven as a lying, manipulating bastard ever since the beginning. So, it would have no effect since UK always will kiss USA's *** because of its political and economic powers.
But why are you asking this- the throne has absolutely NO powers. So, Bush would not be able to accomplish anything, even if it's personal.

I do realize this may seem unreasonable, but unfortunately, in the UK, it's a tradition for the monarch to actually speak the language. Also, while we all recognize that Mr. Bush manages to look quite "martial" - away from combat zones - British tradition requires that uniforms be used for other than parades. Again, quite unreasonably, the members of the Royal Family are expected to actually perform the duties the uniform requires.

Cuz they got more sense than we do. The only title that George W. Bush deserves is Worst President of the United States for All Time.
