Yes. They won't be an over-powering juggernaut or anything, but I think they'll be more like they were in the 2005 season. They may make the playoffs, but if they do, it will be close. Now, the reasons...

1. Cornerback health and depth. Springs was injured something like 3/4 of the season last year, and he was the #1 guy. Carlos Rogers was playing opposite Kenny Wright and Mike Rumph. That's bad. Now, with a healthy Springs, plus Smoot and Rogers, they're looking much better.

2. Running back health. Betts looked great last year. People don't realize that some of the running game was tweaked at the O-line around the time Betts started to break out. Everyone clamoring over Betts hadn't seem him before though. He's a good back, but he's not at Portis' level if you ask me. A healthy Portis with the same scheme that Betts was using last year will be huge.

3. Second year in the system. Saunders doesn't have an easy system to learn, so I understand. Having a second full year under him will make a huge difference. No new terms to learn, etc.

4. Leadership on defense. It was a huge mistake to let Antonio Pierce go. I don't think the Redskins really had a clear-cut leader on defense last year. That may change with London Fletcher. I don't think he'll light the world on fire, but the man led his team in tackles for 8 years running. He's a quality guy, and will be someone the rest of the defense will look to. It will make a difference.

5. Jason Campbell. It's almost cliche that he'll come in and change the Redskins from what they were when Brunell was at the helm, but I think it's true. A full season with a younger, better player at quarterback will be huge. I actually like what Brunell did when he was healthy, and he had some great games for the Redskins, but when he started to get nicked up, he fell apart. Jason Campbell brings more consistancy and stability.

I think 9-7 is possible.

Funny part is, I think they are better with Betts running the ball. Portis looked awful last year. LB finished the season with some monster numbers. The O-line has improved, and not having a geriatric QB helps.

It's a shame they traded Champ Bailey away. Today, they need more help in the secondary. I think this is why they are still trying to get Dre Bly from Denver. What do they say, "fool me once..."

Snyder needs to take his vacation during the free agency window, and let the football minds run the team.

If Clinton Portis can stay healthy and give Jason Campbell some help, then yes. As long as Campbell is under center instead of Brunell, then the Redskins will win some games.

Yes, with the signings of London Flether and Fred Smoot, there defense will be much better. They already have a GREAT reciving corps ledy by Santana Moss, Randel El, and Brandon Lloyd. Their QB is young, Campbell just needs to learn the basics. He has a great arm and is a mobile QB. He needs to learn to see the entire field and throw the ball consistantly with a zip to it. He needs to also stop making his drops 9-10 steps. 3-5 steps are what he needs to do.

they have talent but i dont think they will make the playoffs with jason campbell under center, at least not at this point. too many tough teams in that division. but they do have the talent to at leasst make a run, and maybe with a little luck, qualify for the playoffs

They will be good if Snyder sells the team to someone who knows what they're doing.
