I need to wrte an outline for a presentation on the benefits of distance learning from a student's perspective. The audience will be students and teachers with very little computer experience and may be somewhat fearful of the idea.

Learning on your own schedule.

No set class meeting times.

More one-on-one feedback from instructor.

Assignments may tend to be easier.

Social Pressures or "clicks" simply do not exist.

This should be a start.

Good Luck.

You don't have to drive to a central location in order to take a class.

Lessons can be administered at student's convenience.

There is no direct competition for the teacher's attention

It's easier to keep up with your grades as the professor generally posts grades as soon as papers are graded.

Tests are always taken in a quiet area conducive to the student maintaining concentration. (well it depends on what's going on in the students home...)

Work doesn't have to be printed out.

Syllabi and course outlines can be accessed 24/7

Lessons can be reviewed as many times as necessary in their entirety (in person you only have one chance to take notes from a professor's lecture).
