I found the song, credited to The Yardbirds, on a file sharing system but I can't find anywhere on the net that references The Yardbirds as doing it. It sure has their distinctive sound.
The closest reference I can find is by Van Morrison's old band Them.

it's probably Them - they did the excellent and famous version from the 60's
but the Yardbirds are a better-known band so they likely got incorrectly identified as the artist
