It's pretty much a 10. I had to have 2 big strong men help me pull it out. It was not an easy task. But I took out all the tile and got a plumber to disconnect and plug the water lines.

here is another option for you to consider. I'm not sure why you want to replace the tub but this product will make it look fairly new again. I've used it numerous times with good results. Much easier than replacing also alot less money. About $75 for the kit comes with excellent instructions and all materials to re-do 1 bathtub.
Replacing a bathtub can turn into a much bigger project than you think. If the tub is in good condition with the exception of a hole in it, I'd consider this option first.

I'd rate the average one a 9 due to the number of things you usually have to do. It usually involves- some carpentry work, sheetrock , tile work & plumbing.

the hardest is making the plumbing connections... everthing else is demolition & installation

anything is possible if you put your mind to call a reliable contractor but to reduce the cost ask him/her that you want to be involved that way they can guide you thru the steps
