I keep reading on yahoo Qs refering to her from her nationals as if she is one of tennis greatest players.
All i know is she keeps losing in first rounds usually, no body in tennis & ranked in the 50s. My grandma, if she could play, could beat that rank. LOL
Sorry...just laughing..no offence..

She is loved in India, considered to be the Indian Anna Kornikova. You are so right she gets more posts in here then Federer and has never come close to winning a major. I do not get it , but she has some psycho fans, I hope her earnings are enough to pay for a good body guard.

It is not just "her nationals" that are Sania Mirza fans. I am not Indian, but I think she is good..not "great" yet, but she does have great potential.

And, for the record, no first round finishes yet this year...And has climbed 20 spots in rankings since the first of the year.

Perhaps before you disparage a player and her country you should look at the facts.

But, of course, you didn't need to ask this question as you already stated previously (again disparaging -incorrectly-her nationality):
" PLEASE I BEG YOU ! Stop asking Qs about Mirza. She a no body in tennis for God sake.
I quess some Pakistanis want to make her seem somebody or a celebrity by continuing giving her attention.
Sorry buddy, don't take offence, but i had to check out who is Mirza, just from all the attention about her in yahoo. I don't know if one out of 100 tennis fan knows who she is."

And another gem that again mentions nationality in a negative way:
" Who is Sania Mirza ?
Oh..yah..now i remember ! She is that short fat girl from India that loses in first rounds usually & ranked i believe far in the 50s or 70s, but she is a hero to Indians.
WOW ! Imagine what the Indians would do if they have a player in the top 10 !
I hope not a revolution ! "

She's a Muslim from India. She's gained popularity because of the outcries about her clothing on the court by religious leaders in her home area. They think her clothing is too revealing and is unbecoming of a Muslim woman. They've gone so far as to issue a fatwa against her, requiring her to travel with security guards.
