The best and most effective solution is to use a product like Frontline or Advantage on all of the animals monthly. Then once they are all treated, wash all the bedding they sleep on and use a flea powder designed for carpets and then vacuum thoroughly (do this with pets outside). This should get the flea problem under control .

There is Adams shampoo, flea spray which you spray on before they go outside, carpet powder that you apply and vacuum up.You have to spray the couches, sheets, rugs, and bedding;you need to get it under control before the warm weather is in full speed cuz it will get worse. If you have tried Adams products and dont like them then try De Flea. Its for pets, fabrics, and surfaces. You can use it on nursing pups and kittens.I use it also.I like them both. Most pet stores carry both products. As far as the flea bite, try some cut n heal.It comes in lotions sprays and with a dauber.Keep out of animals eyes.Caution on the cut n heal for the cats.Dont know if they can use that on cats.Watch lables.Always read.Hartz products are cheap and you get more than what you bargin for.Worse skin problems or no results at all.Sorry Hartz.Just wanted to add something ya all.The advantage and frontline are GREAT products and work for a few months. But it doesnt help the bites already there.Just keep in mind they need care also.Thats were the cut n heal helps for the dog.Fin something similar for cats.

Frontline. My cats were infested from the neighbors' cats, and nothing touched it until I tried Frontline. You treat them one day for 3 months. It cost me $60. for one month, but when I thought of how bad my cats were chewing themselves, that I would be a completely irresponsible cat owner not to use it. I just used the first dose. So far, they've cut way, way down on the chewing and scratching. Check on the Internet, you might be able to get it cheaper through there.

Fleas are a major pest. There are various species of fleas - cat fleas, dog fleas, rat fleas and rabbit fleas.
You can get rid of them by the safest and cheapest methods like boric acid.
