first they clean your nose w/ steralizer.... then they draw a dot where u want it, stick a pin through it to poke the hole, and put the stud in. it takes only a couple seconds and in my opinion it doesn't hurt at all, just stings for a second!! i have my bellybutton pierced as well and it is nothing compared to that feeling!! lol!! the worst part is when it is heeling b/c it is hard to get used to and gets caught on random things..., but i have had mine for over a yr and cannot even feel it anymore!! hopefully that helped ya out......!! also i thought i should warn u if the place u are going does it w/ a gun go somewhere else!! guns are fine for ears, but on the nose it leaves a lump of cartilidge and looks rather silly, it also is more prone to infection this way!!

The piercer usually uses a little machine very similar to the ones used for ears. It needs to be loaded and charged the same, only the one-time use stud cartridges are different and the holder tip is deeper and has a smaller head than an ear-gun because they need to go INTO part of your nostril! Yeah, it can hurt, just like getting your ears done! Just make sure the shop who's doing the work cleans ALL their equipment! Otherwise, head somewhere else unless you want a really nasty infection!!!!

My friend said that they have a thing they put in your nose to hold it open and then they stick the gun in their and pierce it. Everybody I've talked to said they didn't even feel it.

They're not supposed to use the gun they use for your ears. That's how I had mine done, but I read later that it can be dangerous. They should use a needle. The gun didn't hurt, by the way.

useing a spring loaded needle, with a break ring to prevent interior damage. pain varies, for some they don't even notice it goes so fast, others say its like being shot, doesn't hurt till later.
