when a woman has identical twins is she more likely to get pregnant with twins again? I know identical twins are not genetic so im just wondering.

Nope, same odds as everyone else. Believe me, first question I asked.


Edited to add: I don't know who is giving the thumbs down to everyone that says "no" but do some research. Identicals are NOT genetically linked and you have NO higher chances of concieving ID twins with subsequent pregnancies. I've done LOTS of research on twinning, especially ID twinning. If you'd like to present me with information to the contrary, I'd welcome it. But please, don't give false info.

Identical twins aren't genetic.. as you said.. no more or less likely than anyone else. Fraternal twins are another story.

I worked with a family that had quads, triplets, and then twins. She was young, and not trying in any of these cases.There's no way that the mother wasn't genetically predisposed to multiple births in a case like this.

I have read somewhere that your chances do indeed increase. If your genetics produced identical twins once, they are more likely to do it again.

NO, if you have fraternal twins you are more likely to have twins again.

yes. my mom had 3 sets of twins and we was all conceived naturaly.
