Why is it so hard for SOME employees to NOT put onions on a burger when it's ordered without onions?
Is this the nation's hardest request to honor, or do most just NOT pay attention to the little tv monitor that tells what to make next?

"the one making the food is not always the one to blame. sometimes the person getting your order ready grabs the wrong thing.
if you don't like it, just eat at home. "
Must be from an offended worker! Eat at home? Don't see the point in being rude about it, it's an honest question. Sounds like you might have a guilty conscience. The point is to NOT eat at home. If you bought a white bra from WalMart, and they put a Black strapless bra in your bag, you'd be angry too. Just make your clothes at home perhaps???

First of all if SOME customers could learn to COMMUNICATE in an effective manner many mistakes such as this would be eliminated during the order taking process.
Otherwise fast food is exactly what it sounds like: a fast paced industry. It is also not as easy as it looks. YOU should try working in a fast food place and see how many mistakes YOU make. Then you might understand.
So you want a $1 burger in less than three minutes and expect it to be perfect too? Get a life. Why not just order a standard burger? Are you that special that you NEED yours without onions? You're not Brad Pitt you can eat a regualr burger like the rest of us.

Well that one is always a serious issue in a fast food industries so far. As you know for every fast food restaurant, they have a place called 'assembly line' in the kitchen or production area where the associates 'assembly' the order, for examples they prepare and place all the veggies and condiments includes such as letttuce, tomatoes, pickles, cheese in separate row on one assembly table, and sometimes when they got busy like lunch time they just want to make it fast and pick it up fast due to heavy load of orders waiting in line, and some associates are sometimes forgot or lazy during the stress lunch hours, they just want to make it easy and fast, this was happened to almost all of my assembly line workers at that time, and I have to retrain and coach them all over again, sometimes refer them back to HQ's to have the training done. That case sometime happened to be a cashier's mistake because the POS (cash register) system sometimes as complicated as a hospital equipment and makes the cashier difficult to master the operation. Well my suggest is when you get a slice of onion you didn't order tell the supervisor, manager or cashier on duty and ask for a free replacement order, check first before you eat, as a part of the service, I, as a manager will very happy to hear your complaint and replace your order with the one you want, Customer is always the King, period.

because we are taught what goes on what burger in what order we are not taught special as much. We hear the sandwich you want and automatically go into what has been imbedded in our brains. Then again it could be the monitors have quit working I have that problem a lot at Hardees and really the company is not willing to upgrade their equipment. Sometimes the blame does lie within the order taker or the center bagger . A lot of places just throw you where they are going to put you to work and you have to pretty much train yourself. Hardees is one of those places, So my apologies for every time you hjave had your order made wrong.

Why are you so wrapped on this? Just take the onion out and enjoy your hamburger. I do not let little things ruin my day. Every one makes mistakes and if you really are bother with one single mistake, bring it up to their attention in a nice way. I am sure they will remember your request next time you order in that restaurant. The giving is in the asking, so ask nicely. Do you have a girlfriend or wife? Probably not! Now you know what you need to do to get one. Be nice, sweet and enjoy life onions or not on your hamburger or hotdog.

Having previously worked in fast food, I can tell you its not as easy as it looks. Little green writing on a tiny screen, while you hear a completely different order on the loudspeaker isn't exactly easy. Some people don't read the screen as well, or they forget while they're doing something else.
Give them some slack and relax a bit. I always helped the quiet, patient customers before the loud, annoying, complaining one. If they get an order wrong, quietly wait in line and have them fix it. If you make a big deal out of it, who are you really helping?

I am apologizing all day for getting the orders at Whataburger wrong. The hardest thing for me is to punch the right buttons on the place that you take the customers order, plus the customers are a bit hard to understand. I'm new, but I'll get better!

Sometimes they're in a hurry--it could be a busy time, and they just slip up. They're only human.
Another thing that can happen--bits of onion can stick to their fingers (or gloves) and as a result you may wind up with a little bit of onion. (That would be at McDonald's where they used diced onions.)
Just chill out. If you're not allergic to onions and you get some in your burger, just calm down and take them out if possible.

don,t be hard on employees, they're humans, we make mistakes. it's not easy to work at a fast food restaurant. Employees are accustomed to do the same food over and over and when someone ask to take some ingredients out of of the sandwich they get confused because they are used to do same sandwich with the same ingredients everyday .
