there are good and bad but sence you want the bad here is what I think, Im a mom if that helps any.
I think they are taking away freedom from kids to much already.
No face piercings, No strange hair color, no outragous hair styles, why because its distracting. Im sorry but if your kid cant do his work because someone has a pink moehawk and a nose ring there is something wrong with them.
No bandanas, I ware them all the time to hold my hair back and so does my oldest daughter.
as long as your shirt is not showing to much and you can seen your butt when you bend over I think kids should be able to ware what they want. kids use cloths and hair to express them self, and they should be able to.
What if a kid is to big to fit in the uniforms? That is going to cause more pain to a kid then not being able to shop at Pac sun (one of my fave shops). On the news a wile back there was a story about a girl being to big to fit in the uniforms, she cryed and hated school after that. They couldnt specal order one for her because they dont make them that big. Lucky her mom could sew.
what if the family is to poor to afford the uniforms? They can cost alot.
people worry about girls looking trashy at school. whats more trashy then a little checkered skirt (alot of girls do fold them up so they show more) and a thin white top? hello thats the making ofa good porn right there.
when my girls are older if they want there hair died ill take them to get the stuff and offer to help then to do it.
If they want something pierced as long as i think they will take care of it ill take them to next generation to see billy.
as long as they dont look like little sluts and do there best in school im happy.

They are bad for the students, not the schools. I personally hate uniforms, and I had to wear them for three years in middle school, and the only thing I can say is, some students don't always have their uniforms clean, and they end up wearing the same shirt all week, which gets pretty smelly by the end of the week. Also, when clothes are out of the picture, students tend to focus more on what shoes you wear, or what kind of back pack you have, so there is always going to be a class system, divided among students. Uniforms, do not replace anything, except individuality.

Umm well i had to wear uniforms for 5 years it kind of gets boring cause almost everyone wears about the same thing but you get used to it! Also they are hard to find in where i live! They are pretty pricey too!
Well Good luck!

There is more reasons about why we should'nt wear uniforms:
-- we have barieres,at choosing the uniforms, everyone likes different colours
--I think is boring wearing the same every day
--At least we have right to wear what we like, including the school rules

They are good. they put everyone on an equal footing. No more fashion wars between students or improper dress code. Also it is cheaper for the parents in the long run and you can argue that you don't have anything to ware for school. It can give you some school pride.
Admit it you just do not like change and to be told what to ware.

They are an extra expense for parents and if they have more than 1 child going to school that's double $.
